This is a survival horror game where your partner actually changes how you play. Claire and Barry bring the guns, but Moira and Natalia handle support in ways that matter, whether that means spotting hidden items, using a flashlight, or getting through dangerous spaces with less direct firepower.

That imbalance creates tension without making the game awkward. In solo play, swapping characters keeps you engaged with every room and encounter. In co-op, each player has a practical role, which makes problem solving and survival feel more deliberate than a standard two-person shooter setup.

Strong Value Beyond Campaign

If you want more than a one-and-done run, Resident Evil Revelations 2 has a surprisingly substantial Raid Mode. With a large mission count, a wide character roster drawn from across the series, and room to customize skills and weapons, it gives you a separate track of progression that is easy to return to.

That extra mode matters because it offers a different kind of payoff from the story. You can jump in for a few missions solo, online, or in local split-screen, making it a practical reason to keep the game installed after the credits.

Main Story Playtime

The campaign is split into four episodes, and each episode is further divided between Claire and Moira in the past and Barry and Natalia in the present, so progress comes in clear chunks instead of one continuous stretch.

Its mission-based structure works well for short 15 to 30 minute bursts, but with around 200 missions, 15 characters, and weapon and skill customization, it can also turn into a much longer side commitment if you want to build loadouts and push through tougher stages.
