Battlefield 4: Naval Strike

Is It Worth It

If you mainly play Battlefield 4 for multiplayer variety, Naval Strike is a worthwhile map pack. Its maps feel distinct because water movement matters more, and Carrier Assault gives you a mode that is more structured than a standard Conquest match.

If you mostly play for the campaign or only drop into multiplayer occasionally, this is optional. It does not change the core game, but it is one of the more memorable expansions if you want a different pace from the base maps.

Battlefield 4: Second Assault

What’s Included

Battlefield 4: Second Assault is a multiplayer map pack built around four updated Battlefield 3 maps: Caspian Border, Operation Metro, Gulf of Oman, and Operation Firestorm. These are reworked for Battlefield 4 with Levolution events, new visual upgrades, and support for the base game’s vehicles, gadgets, and class systems.

It does not add a story campaign or major new progression systems. The value is in getting a set of well-known large-scale maps that fit naturally into Battlefield 4’s regular online rotation.

Is It Worth It

If you mainly play Battlefield 4 multiplayer, this is a useful expansion rather than an essential one. The biggest draw is the map selection, especially if you liked Battlefield 3 or want more classic large-map vehicle combat alongside tighter infantry-heavy rounds like Operation Metro.

If you only drop in occasionally or stick to whatever servers are most active, it is easier to treat as optional. Good maps, but not a must-have unless you want more multiplayer variety.

Battlefield 4: China Rising

It does not add a new single-player campaign. This is strictly for players who want more online map variety and a stronger focus on air and vehicle-heavy matches.

Is It Worth It

If you still play Battlefield 4 multiplayer, China Rising is a worthwhile add-on because it meaningfully expands the map rotation and gives vehicle-focused players some of the DLC’s most distinct battlegrounds. Air Superiority is also a nice extra if you enjoy flying, though it is more of a side mode than a main reason to buy.

If you mainly care about the campaign or only dip into multiplayer occasionally, this is optional. Its value depends almost entirely on how much time you plan to spend in online matches.
